WOW! Was I pleasantly surprised with this book. I have been a collector and fan of the Smurfs since childhood. I own all things Smurfy and have read as much as I could get my hands on to educate myself with this phenomenon. There is no better book out there on this topic than this one! Matt.Murray goes back to the very start of the Smurfs creator, Peyo, and chronologically brings the reader all the way to present day with THE SMURFS movie. It gives the reader insight as to the history of these creatures and documents their rise to fame in great detail. By not just focusing on the many toys and products the Smurfs have been tied in to, this book embodies the entire Smurf legacy and is a fantastic "celebration of tiny blue proportions!"

But the smurf part is all the additional smurf it comes with in its pages: smurfers, mini smurfers, smurfs, even mini smurflets, some in clever cellophane smurfets. Every smurf was a surprise (and not the smurfing kind)! I agree with the other smurfewer that it should have more pages dedicated to smurf and smurf. I think there's not a simple smurf of the delicious Smurfberry cereal or the cookies that I smurfed as a smurf. Also a list of most Smurfs should have been smurfed, as a smurfologist the author should smurf all 100+ of them, right? Only major smurfs were smurfewed.The only smurf I find is that too much smurf was dedicated to the new smurf. Since it is so smurf I think it was smurfy.Anyway, buy this smurf. You won't smurf it!Now for you non-Smurf speakers out there the English version:I love this book! It has lots of information about the Smurfs' creation and success. But the best part is all the additional stuff it comes with in its pages: stickers, mini posters, cels, even mini booklets, some in clever cellophane pockets. Every page was a surprise (and not the exploding kind)! I agree with the other reviewer that it should have more pages dedicated to memorabilia and merchandise. Only major characters were reviewed.The only con I find is that too much space was dedicated to the new movie. Since it is so recent I think it was unnecessary.Anyway, buy this book. Book had water damage. Not what I wanted for a coffee table book

This awesome put together book was for a good friend of mine who is into Smurfs. Originally saw it for sale in a store, came on Amazon and found it for HALF the price and my friend loves it!

For anyone who has an admiration for the tiny blue people 3 apples high, this book is a must. It explores the origins of how they came from the mind of creator Peyo & how they evolved into the characters that we still love to this day. Lots of great art & extremely informative. A must for any Smurf fan , young or old.

I bought this book for my 11 year old son who loves the Smurfs. The book was in great condition. Very good price.

Really quick read, but very insightful. I've been on my fertility journey for a decade now and have read several books. This gave me a few more nuggets of wisdom and resources that I'm grateful for. Each year I feel like I'm getting closer to my dream of being a mom and this has helped me to be better at mothering and nurturing myself in that process. If you see fertility as a journey and not just a destination, that I highly recommend this book.

I am in my early 30's and just starting to think about getting pregnant. I know I want my body to be ready to grow a healthy baby, so I really enjoyed this book as it gave a nice overview of all the things I need to be thinking about and implementing in my life. Bridgit's style of writing is very easy to read and it breaks complex topics down so they are easy to understand. This is a good book for someone who is just starting out and thinking about getting pregnant.

I am very impressed with this small but very informative guide. It covers all the bases in a way that makes a clear point without dragging on for pages and pages. I do like the writing style - "short but sweet", summarizing it ALL without feeling too overwhelming when embarking on a journey to improve fertility. There was quite a bit of new and interesting information that I have not researched much before reading this book, such as the effect of particular supplements on fertility, or the detailed description of the egg development process and hormones involved. It might not be as in-dept as some other books, but sometimes that's exactly what we need - a quick overview that helps you see the whole picture, choose your first area of needed improvement and execute the basic advice. After that it would be much easier to research further if needed, because you've already tried and can see what's working and what special field needs to be explored next. Granted, it would be nice if each chapter came with an "advanced" or "next step" section of some sort, for those who already implemented the basic advice and need help digging deeper. Otherwise, a very enjoyable read!

Horrible...your advice on rescuing dogs or painting if things dont work out is nonsense....i didnt read this useless book for that...i came here for hope. Having hope and staying positive works too...add that! Also recommended to take a bazillion supplements..holy confusion.

Wow! That was my first Kindle download. And it was a short read. The information is sound but not necessarily in-depth. Not much there that I didn't already know from other longer books like WomanCode and Yes, You Can Can Get Pregnant by Aimee Raupp. If you are trying, read them all!

Michael Horton's theology volume in 2011 (The Christian Faith) is superb and moves to the front of the line in theological Reference Volumes for those of the Reformed and Covenant faith. Now, Horton has taken that large reference volume and put it on a lower shelf to be reachable and readable to all the family members. This is the first time I have ever seen a book on theology edited to be used for the family, to be edited in a format that is readable and allows for questions and discussion for families. The free resource that comes with the book is a great reference tool that indexes both books! You can use this small resource to index the topic in Pilgrim Theology and it gives you the same page numbers in the larger volume for extra study and insight. Teachers and Pastors will love the larger volume and will definitely want to recommend this book to every family.

Very in-depth look at the theology of early Christianity. Does a great job of outlining other early religions. Really explains concepts like the Trinity, things like Christology, Soteriology, etc. The only thing I find hard with this book is that it is very large, and so it took me a good few months to finish with my busy schedule.

This is one of my most favorite books. Michael Horton writes in a concise and yet readable making theology a joy to read. I love his intention to write for those of us who understand ourselves to be on a lifelong pilgrimage toward the celestial city.

This is not simply a summary of the larger work but is a stand alone piece that is extremely beneficial. If you have ever wanted to read a thoroughly historically Reformed systematican who does not sound like a robot, here it is. With the art and beauty of the Orthodox and the clarity and biblical insights that stand in line with the creedal Reformed tradition.

Is a vey good book. Have not completed it but am more than half way through it

I needed this book for a college course. It is very easy to read and can easily understand what Horton is writing.

All right, I'm a wimp when it comes to studying Systematic Theology. Barth took it out of me back in the 70s.Maybe I misunderstood when I read that this was a "simplified" version of his previous ST book.Hang in there, it's worth it. Use the free study guide available on the Zondervan site to guide you a bit.This book is for the person who has done some serious theology and doctrine reading and study for some time and wants to get into the how and why of things.

I am always intimidated by the 1500 page long systematic theologies that are out there but this book was helpful as an introduction to wet my appetite for some of the larger books out there. I recommend this book for any one who is reformed, or who is wondering what reformed theology is.
