This was used for an in-house course at a genetics research Institute in town. The book is current with the technology, and insightful in the ethical and privacy issues raised by genetic information, as well as the challenges cancer presents.. Very personable and easy to understand.

Science Fiction is reality!The points made in this book seem obviously simple compared to science fiction yet is unheard of by the average person. This book fills this gap by offering a smooth read to the average reader. This work also provides a glimpse of the present, the potential for the future, and most importantly demonstrates the fine line between detecting/curing diseases and abuse of reading too much into the data of genomic sequencing. Are we ready for the social implications of doctor's interactions with electronic medical records with a bigdata driven genomic module?
As a biology teacher I like to keep up with the latest news in genomics and medicine. This boon is an eye opener when it comes to thinking about the future of medicine. I believe we will see medical treatments and health care changing in our lifetime. I suggest reading this book!
